Host green fields in spring.
Ground-top, “leapable” streams
Nurture the whole affair.
Holsteins, heads down
Glide across the (seemingly) shorn fields.
Barefoot children, women on bikes, men with teams
Manage the play, the errands, the plowing.
The sound of a bell (supper?). Milk and maybe some honey but certainly homemade jam.
